Friendship and Fun through Lifelong Learning

Open Meetings, the AGM and other FU3A events will now take place in Connah’s Quay Civic Hall. The facilities mean that we have to serve your beverages in paper cups. If you wish to bring your own reusable cup/mug from home please do so. This will help to reduce the impact on the environment.

Music Live (Formerly Words, Music and Song)

FLVC have event called 'Get Set' at St. David's Hall, Mold (near the Catholic Church) from 12.30 - 3p.m. on Thursday 22-Feb-18.

It's supported by Flintshire CC and NEW MIND and promoting local community groups and activities aimed at 'well being'.

FU3A group Music Live (formerly Words, Music and Song) are on a FU3A stall there and hosting a drumming workshop using our new drums (bought with help from the CooP).

‘Music Live’

It’s about discovering and developing musical skills and has recently received some funding from the CooP for African and Latin percussion.

If you’re interested in African, Latin or ethnic drumming and folk music etc., please get in touch.

* New First Aid Courses

In the New Year, FU3A will be running a series of First Aid Courses, led by St John’s Ambulance training staff.

There will be three, two part courses covering Basic First Aid Awareness and Public Access Defib Awareness.

Each part of the course will be two hours. The courses are free.

*New Outdoor Navigation Course

We are running another 5 session course covering the traditional skills of navigation using map and compass. This would equip you with the basic knowledge you need to explore and enjoy the outdoors more confidently.


The sessions will take place on a Wednesday 2pm till 3.30pm at Sychdyn Memorial Hall on the following dates in 2018 -

January 24th , February 7th ,  February 21st , March 7th , March 21st


An informal get together will take place earlier in January to give out more information

Do you enjoy a good read?  Like to explore a variety of different books?  Enjoy discussion and listening to other people’s interpretation of a book?

Then come along to our Reading Group, where you will find congenial company, stimulating conversation and also the occasional lunch and trip out.

Reading Group 6 would welcome new members.  We meet on the third Tuesday of each month, except December, upstairs at Buckley Library at 2 p.m.
